Baby’s First Pancakes – Simple Four Ingredient Pancakes for Baby Led Weaning
These super easy pancakes made with just four ingredients are ideal for Baby Led Weaning and finger food for toddlers. All ages love this recipe, making them a great option for the whole family to enjoy!
Pancakes make a great option for BLW as a snack or breakfast because they are soft and really easy for your baby to manage. The best part is, this yummy recipe only contains 4 simple ingredients!
I tend to batch cook mine on a Sunday and that’s my breakfasts sorted for the whole week which saves me time when I’m busy rushing around. WAIT…It gets better…they can even be put in the freezer and then just toasted on the defrost setting or from chilled to make life even easier. This for sure will come in handy when your little one is having a meltdown because they want their banana pancakes right now (we’ve all been there and I totally get it because they’re just so delicious).
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Makes: Roughly 12 pancakes
Suitable for freezing
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 egg
- 100g oats
- 150ml milk of your choice (could use breastmilk)
- Optional – a pinch of cinnamon
- Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Heat a little coconut oil or butter in a large frying pan and then add the pancake mixture.
- Flip the pancake over and cook until golden.
- Continue with the rest of the batter.
I have mine with yoghurt and then defrost some frozen mixed berries in the microwave to make a kind of coulis. Offer to your baby as finger food at around 7 months with a side of yoghurt for them to dip the pancakes in – a delicious breakfast in minutes.
